‘Widow’s or widower’s fire’ is a natural phenomenon defined as a strong desire for sex following bereavement and is often considered a natural part of the grieving process. In fact, there’s even a term for it – ‘widow’s fire’. It’s only natural to miss sex and sexual intimacy when you’re grieving your partner’s death, and it’s nothing to be ashamed of. Sexual bereavement is the grief we don’t like to talk about.
